Recognize Phytophthora

Most Phytophthora species are soil borne and attack by fine root infections. Some species can aerially infect stem, needles or leaves. The symtoms in these cases differ. If the infection is limited to the roots, it can takes years before the tree starts to show symtoms such as stem wounds, yellowing leaves or sparce crown.
